Avan Jogia: Pronunciation, Career, Fiancée, and FAQ

Ask anyone who grew up on 2010s Nickelodeon about Avan Jogia, and the answer usually starts with Beck Oliver — the role that made him a teen favorite, according to Today. The same actor is now better known as Halsey’s fiancé, but his career has moved beyond teen TV into directing and indie projects. The questions people actually search are simpler than they look: how to say his name, who he is engaged to, and whether the rumors survive contact with the record.

Pronunciation: /ˈævən ˈdʒoʊɡiə/ ·
Born: February 9, 1992 ·
Known for: Beck Oliver in Victorious (Today) ·
Fiancée: Halsey (Today) ·
Directorial feature: Door Mouse (official site)

The pattern is simple: the record is firm on his job history and thin on personal speculation.

Eight rows, one pattern: People anchors the personal data, Today covers the Victorious years, IMDb carries the reported height, and the official site confirms the director credit.

How do you pronounce the name “Avan Jogia”?

It’s /ˈævən ˈdʒoʊɡiə/, roughly “AV-en JOE-gee-uh.” The official site uses the actor’s own spelling, and the full name in profiles is Avan Tudor Jogia.

Is Avan Jogia fully Indian?

• No. Jogia is Canadian, not “fully Indian.” His family background includes Gujarati Indian, English, Scottish, and German roots, according to People.
• The same profile places his birth in Vancouver and identifies his parents as Wendy and Mike Jogia.

How old is Avan Jogia?

• Born February 9, 1992, he is 34 as of 2026 (People).

How tall is Avan Jogia?

• Biographical listings put him around 5 ft 9 in (1.75 m), though the supplied research flags it as a reported figure rather than a verified medical measurement (IMDb).

What this means: the pronunciation and identity basics are settled enough for a fan page, and the “not fully Indian” framing misses the real story — a mixed-race Canadian actor whose surname reflects his Gujarati heritage.

How did Avan Jogia get famous?

Jogia’s route to fame went through Nickelodeon. His breakthrough was Beck Oliver on Victorious, a show that premiered in March 2010 and ran for four seasons until 2013, according to Today. His co-stars included Victoria Justice, Ariana Grande, Elizabeth Gillies, Leon Thomas III, and Matt Bennett, per People.

What movies and TV shows has Avan Jogia appeared in?

• First credited role: Danny Araujo in A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story (2006), per IMDb.
• Early recognition: Danny in The Troop and a recurring role in Caprica, both logged on IMDb.
• Breakthrough: Beck Oliver in Victorious, 2010–2013 (Today).
• Later TV: Twisted (IMDb), Tut, Ghost Wars, and Now Apocalypse (E! Online).
• Film: Zombieland: Double Tap (E! Online) and the short Alex, which he directed (Elle).
• Behind the camera: Door Mouse as his directorial feature (official site).

Who is Beck in Victorious?

• Beck Oliver is Jade West’s boyfriend and one of the central students at Hollywood Arts High School (People).
• He is the tall, laid-back guy who dates Jade and often tries to keep the peace in the friend group.
• Jogia’s Victorious co-stars included Victoria Justice, Ariana Grande, Elizabeth Gillies, Leon Thomas III, and Matt Bennett (People).

What is the Avan Jogia Backrooms connection?

• No verified project named “Avan Jogia Backrooms” appears in the supplied research.
• The query appears to blend the actor’s name with the viral Backrooms internet creepypasta, but no official tie is documented here.

What is Avan Jogia working on in 2026?

• His announced directorial feature is Replacer, a psycho-sexual horror starring and co-written by Halsey, per the Instagram announcement (Instagram).
• His official site describes him as a filmmaker, writer, and artist and lists Door Mouse as his directorial feature (official site).

The pattern: Nickelodeon gave him the audience, but he has spent the decade after Victorious building a second act as a director and writer rather than a nostalgia act.

Does Avan Jogia support LGBTQ?

Yes. The advocacy record is short but public: Jogia co-founded Straight But Not Narrow, a campaign that encouraged straight allies to support LGBTQ people. The supplied research confirms the campaign’s existence but does not include a dedicated interview transcript, so the details stay thin.

What this means: Jogia’s LGBTQ support is real but lightly documented in the available research, and it predates his 2020s indie turn.

Who are Avan Jogia’s ex-girlfriends?

The ex-girlfriends question is where celebrity rumor starts to outrun the record. People identifies actress Zoey Deutch as a past relationship; the two later appeared together in Zombieland: Double Tap (E! Online). There is no confirmed record in the supplied research that Miley Cyrus and Jogia ever dated.

Did Miley Cyrus date Avan Jogia?

• No confirmed record. The supplied research includes no evidence that Miley Cyrus and Jogia were a couple.

The trade-off: “ex-girlfriends” makes a tidy search query, but the available record has one named relationship — Zoey Deutch — and a pile of unconfirmed social-media speculation.

Who is Halsey’s fiance?

Avan Jogia. Today identifies Jogia as Halsey’s fiancé, and the supplied research lists no marriage. People gives birth dates that put Halsey about two and a half years younger than Jogia.

What is the age gap between Halsey and Avan Jogia?

• About two and a half years, with Halsey younger (People).

Who is Avan Jogia’s wife?

• He does not have a wife in the supplied record; Halsey is his fiancée (Today).

The implication: anyone searching “Who is Halsey’s fiance?” can stop at Avan Jogia — but “fiancée” and “wife” are not interchangeable labels.

Timeline: from first credit to Replacer

• 2006: First credited role as Danny Araujo in A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story (IMDb).
• 2009–2010: Spectacular! and the run-up to Victorious (People).
• 2010–2013: Beck Oliver on Victorious (Today).
• 2015: Title role in Tut (E! Online).
• 2019: Zombieland: Double Tap (E! Online).
• Recent: Directed the short Alex and continued building an independent film career (Elle).
• 2026: Replacer announced with Halsey (Instagram).

What this means: the through-line is a performer who keeps adding “director” to the job description, with Replacer as the next test.

What’s confirmed vs. what’s still unclear

Confirmed facts

• Born February 9, 1992, in Vancouver (People)
• Played Beck Oliver on Victorious (Today)
• Halsey is his fiancée (Today)
• Door Mouse is his directorial feature (official site)

Still unclear

• Whether Miley Cyrus and Jogia ever dated
• What “Avan Jogia Backrooms” refers to
• Release date for Replacer
• Start and end dates for his relationship with Zoey Deutch (People)
• Precise height verification, since the 5 ft 9 in figure is reported rather than measured

The pattern: the closer a claim sits to tabloid search behavior — Miley Cyrus, Backrooms, “wife” — the thinner the evidence gets.

What the sources say

Jogia describes his feelings about his Nickelodeon years as mixed rather than uniformly positive, a nuance often lost in “where are they now” recaps (Elle).

— Elle, citing Avan Jogia

The official site presents Jogia as a filmmaker, writer, and artist and positions Door Mouse as his directorial feature (official site).

— avanJogia.com

Replacer is announced as a psycho-sexual horror starring and co-written by Halsey (Instagram).

— @avanjogia on Instagram

What this means: the official framing is “artist,” not “former Nickelodeon heartthrob,” and even the profiles that cover the teen-star era lean into the mixed feelings.

Where things stand

Avan Jogia is a Canadian-born actor and director who became famous as Beck Oliver, spent the next decade adding indie credits, and is now engaged to Halsey. The essential record is settled; the 2026 story depends on Replacer finding an official release path. For fans tracking Halsey’s fiancé from the Victorious era, the decision is clear: treat the settled biography as settled, and hold off on calling Replacer‘s 2026 slate real until an official release date arrives.
